As we need to rely on our camper, it needs a lot of maintenance to provide a 100 percent function. This time I did a change of the air filter which is a very easy task. I do carry always spare because the roads are extremely dusty. Changing filter needs not more than 15 minutes, so it can be done before breakfast!
But sometimes things just breaks, like this time a rim of the rear axle. The problem just shows by loosing pressure in the wheel whitout having a puncture.
But we are lucky that over the last year in Africa nothing more serious happened to our MB Sprinter and our house.
Hi Edi,
we replaced the original air filter into a better one from KN. Air filter alarm went on, even when the original filter was brand new. Likely due to the V6 and the hunger on air. That was the reason to change to KB Filter.
The nice thing is you can clean the filter endlessly by yourself. Mercedes Sprinter III (W907 Hecktantrieb) 3.0CDi (219/319/419/519) (190 PS) Bj. 5/18-9/21 K&N Luftfilter Nr. 33-2391
Thanks for all your tips and all the wounderful rest…. Greetings, Gunter
Hallo Gunter,
thank you for your hint. I will stick to the original filter (BOSCH) aslong we are traveling in Africa. I never had any “filter alarm” even on worst condition of the filter! I use the snorkel as a pre filter while filling oil in the cyclone unit on top.
All the best

We use the same Donaldson filter and the donaldson zyclon produced likely the filter alarm, one expert said. Due to the high & sensetiv air demand of the V6. Well anyhow, just thought no spare needed, just clean the filter.
Are your marquart bumpers still fix?
Greetings into your world,
Gunter
Thank you, yes the Marquart bumpers are working well since our fix in Nairobi.
All the best!
