Volksie Museum

The private VW collection called the “Volksie Museum”, is focuses on air-cooled VW’s such as original Beetles, Karmann Ghias and Kombi’s. The vehicles on display were fantastic, from fully restored Kombi’s to amazing Beetles in many colours. There were also some special treasures to be found such as an old-school ambulance with just 40,000kms on the clock and one of the last CITI Golf’s ever produced with a mere 1500 kms under its belt.

The legendary “BULLY”

Many of the Kombi’s were equipped for camping, which was lovely to see. Surely a collection where it would be difficult to pick just one car as your favourite.

VW 412 LS – not a “bestseller”
“VW SP2” – only 10.205 units produced by Volkswagen do Brasil
A true collector keeps it all
Sad looking BEETLE fenders
In need of a BEETLE hood?

After our visit to Bloemfontein, we are heading back to Lesotho now, which we finally want to enter – more next!
