Travel Route 2025

2025 started with a first exploration of Morocco, which was very successful. We did a mix of sightseeing and driving on tracks through the desert.

Through Spain, we travelled back to Austria again. The rain did follow us starting from the South of Spain back to Austria. When we had reached South Tyrol, we had enough and checked into a nice hotel with Spa for a couple of days (Falkensteiner Hotel in Vals)

The next week we spent in Fulpmes in Tyrol together with our son to go skiing at the Stubaier Glacier and at Schlick 2000. Luckily, the weather had changed, and we had great conditions at the end of March.

The next month was spent with working and getting the big car ready, doing some more repairs.

End of April, we again took the little car and drove to the Netherlands, together with Cordy’s parents. Our son got his master degree in Science, and we were happy we could attend the ceremony and spend some time with him. Afterwards we visited friends in Germany and finally drove back through Czechia to Vienna.

During the first week of July, we did a crazy road trip, driving to Spain with a car and trailer to pick up our old-timer Dodge. It took us a week of constant driving and with the help of our friend Peter we got the car pulled out of a big underground garage and onto the trailer with no problem. Back in Austria, we parked the Dodge in a lovely garage, where it will have to wait until we find the time to do some repairs, to get the car running again.

Mid of June we finally left in the direction of Ireland, taking a route through the Alps, visiting Liechtenstein and Switzerland. In France, we managed to visit some of the famous Loire castles, before we took the ferry from Cherbourg to Rosslare in Ireland.

After a month in Ireland, we took the ferry to Spain and drove down to Jávea, where we were house sitting for a month.

Afterwards we spent another week at a beach before we slowly crossed Spain, visiting many new places for us, until we reached Portugal.

It was our third time in Portugal, and we explored new parts of this beautiful country before we ended in Fuseta. If you have read “Lost in Fuseta” you know why 😉

In November, we took the ferry again to Morocco and spent 3 weeks with grid hunting for the QO-100 community.

With a limping camper we made it back to Spain and waited a week to get it repaired, before we returned to Fuseta to wait for Cordy’s parents, arriving with their own camper.

Togehter we took the ferry to Tenerife, where we spent the last days of 2025 together.
