Stopover @ Chrissiesmeer

Camping @ Genesaret

Chrissiesmeer is a small remote village in the lake district, an endless flat grassland with little lakes at around 1600 metres asl with Chrissiesmeer, the largest natural lake in all of South Africa.

We camped at a place called Genesaret, where we parked our car at a beautiful lawn directly at the lake shore. There were some big trees for shade, a path led around the property with beautiful views and we could go on an excursion with Johann, the manager. He took us with his rubber boat along the lake shore to look for birds.

What a great place to relax for a bit. We will now start our engine again and see if we make it until Pretoria without any incident. The turbo problem makes us quite unrelaxed, but let’s see!
