Beach rose – Kartoffelrose or Apfelrose in German |
Rosa rugosa grows on beach coastlines, often on sand dunes. It is extremely tolerant of seaside salt spray and storms, commonly being the first shrub in from the coast. This rose is native to Eastern Asia and is considered an invasive species in seashores of Northern Europe.
