I needed new glasses and thought I’d give it a try in Antalya, where we had seen opticians advertising also in English and German.
Antalya is a lovely city full of life even in winter and not as dead as many other places which only come to life in summer. We had strolled through town directly from our parking at the old port.

We had spent 2 nights here, once during the week which was fine, the next time on Friday night, which was a mistake. Youngsters from Antalya like to go out until late and next to us was a major taxi hub, which meant that until 5 am groups of slightly drunken people were passing or waiting for a taxi to arrive, not very peaceful for us. But from here it was just a short walk to the optician which I had spotted.

As opticians are not allowed to check your eyes in Turkey, we got a ride from the optician to an eye specialist. Our driver took us into the clinic and came with us to the doctor to help with language problems.

I didn’t want another frame, just needed new glasses for the one I have, so it didn’t take long to choose the kind of glass and order it. It took them only 2 days and I got the message that the glasses had arrived.
