Our first hike in South Tyrol was at the Drei Zinnen. We took the route through the Rienz valley starting at the Drei Zinnen Blick near Toblach.
The parking (46.640351, 12.231991) would have been great for the night, but that was not allowed. So we went there early in the morning, payed 7,- for a day ticket and started our hike into the valley of the Rienz river. With still a lot of snow melting in the mountains, there was plenty of water coming down.
During winter, parts of the path along the river had been washed away. Some sections had already been repaired, but at other spots we had to take a detour.

Finally, we reached the Rienz Boden from where we had a great view of the 3 Zinnen. This Alm was a perfect spot for a rest. We had brought some sandwiches, which we enjoyed together with the scenery.
There are many routes for climbers leading up all the 3 peaks. For sure a great experience.
