Along the west coast of Fuerteventura we found another lookout with a monument we loved. Don’t they look as if they are walking on clouds? Next we came past a beautiful windmill, once one of many, this is a very well renovated example and a reminder of the past.

We followed the Barranco de los Molinos until we reached the coast at Puertito (small harbour) de los Molinos, where some houses of the fishermen nestle in a bay. The sea was still rough, with high waves clashing against the rocks,

We decided to take a steep gravel road, leading up to the plateau, which gave us another good view into the barranco. But that wasn’t the reason for choosing this track. We wanted to follow the coast to a beach further north. We were hoping the gravel road would take us there.

At the end, we only had to cross a riverbed behind the beach, which was no problem and we were there. Only few people come to this remote place, and we enjoyed the rest of the day at the beach.

In a couple of days, a ferry will take us back to Gran Canaria, where we will have enough time to visit Las Palmas before our return to the mainland of Spain. More next!
