Maybe the coast to the north-west can appear tamer, but during our time there it was very wild indeed! We had high waves which were crashing constantly against the rocks and all the rock pools along the coast were closed.

We started exploring at Arenas Blancas, the only “white beach” at the island. From there a hiking path was built into the rough lava, which takes you along the coast and past fantastic rock formations, formed by the sea.

Afterwards, we continued to Verodal Beach, which could be lovely with gentle waves and maybe during low tide. When we were there, you would have been immediately wiped into the sea. But we liked the place anyway. We found a good spot from where we could watch the waves and the sunset, and spent a relaxed night there.

Tomorrow we will go back to El Golfo – more soon!
