What luck that we just arrived in Sparta the day the Trifecta World Championship started!!
Spartan Race is a series of steeplechases. There is the Spartan Sprint (3+ miles of obstacle racing, 20+ obstacles), the Spartan Super (8+ miles, 25+ obstacles), the Spartan Beast (13+ miles, 30+ obstacles), and the Spartan Ultra (30+ miles, 60+ obstacles). The obstacles themselves vary from race to race. A Spartan Trifecta is earned by completing three different Spartan obstacle course races in one calendar year. This qualifies you for the Trifecta World Championship in Sparta we just ran into!

Friday night we walked through town and followed the parade of the nations, which were presented enthusiastically, every group doing three burpees on the stage. We were happy to see that there was quite a big group of Austrians competing. But there were people from every part of the world even from countries like Cote d’Ivoire, Brunei, Chile, Mexico, Oman, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Australia and many more.
What a great experience this event was! We really had fun watching the competition and the surrounding entertainment. The presenters were creating a fantastic atmosphere of companionship and enthusiasm.
