Slowly making our way back to the other side of the island, we did a couple of stops. The first was at La Frontera, where we drove all the way up to the Candelaria Church with its unique bell tower.

Next to the church was a restaurant with an Italian flavour, but very nice (La Bodeguita de Fa). After a delicious lunch and a bottle of wine, we spent the rest of the day at the coast again, where we used the official caravan parking at La Maceta. There is a service station, toilets, a little restaurant, a swimming area (closed because of the waves) and the scenic hiking route along the coast, which we did a couple of times while we were in the area.

The next day, we drove up the mountains again, with a last stop at the incredible Mirador de la Peña, and past green pastures to a lovely picnic place. We spent a relaxed couple of hours watching kestrels on the lookout and sweeping past us.

At 1,300 metres it was getting cold quickly, so we decided to drive down to Tamaduste at the coast.

Tamaduste lies at the calmer east coast and has a lovely bay, which seems great for swimming. For us, it was still too cold to jump into the water. Instead, we walked the path built into a very fierce looking lava field, leading along the coast to the north.

In the afternoon, our ferry was finally leaving. At the port, the wall next to the parking served for some repairs at the rear window. No leader needed! And the beach next to the harbour served for a last nap in the sun.

We will go back to Tenerife, but the next day we will be already on our way to Gran Canaria. More from our 5th island soon!
