Santa Cruz de Tenerife

What had happened? How did we get from Sidi Ifni to Morocco, you wonder?
Our problems with the car had cumulated in a dead generator and a cardan shaft close to its end. We therefore made our way first to Mercedes in Casablanca, but they didn’t have the parts and informed us about delivery times up to 3 weeks. So we made our way slowly to the ferry, more limping than driving. We only managed all the way because of Edi’s know-how. He had to connect the battery of the camper with the battery of the car, so that we could drive at all.

We arrived back in Spain and went to the next Mercedes garage in Los Barrios, where they ordered the parts and got them in about 5 working days. In one day all the changes and repairs were done at an excellent price, and we were delighted that all our problems were solved so efficiently.

We made our way to Fuseta in Portugal, where we met Austrians from our area. With Trixi and Bernie we celebrated Cordy’s birthday and had a great time with Sangría and Vinho Verde. Finally, Cordy’s parents arrived, and we made our way back to Huelva, where we boarded the ferry to Tenerife.

The departure was postponed because of bad weather, and the first day at the sea we still had high waves, but finally, it calmed down, and we had a good passage.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife welcomed us with warm temperatures and sunshine. We found a parking and made our way into town, past the auditorium built by Calatrava.

As we had parked in front of the Palm garden, we paid it a visit. It was built on top of a rubbish dump but today is a lovely park with not only palm trees but many other fascinating plants.

In the afternoon, we left to drive to the south of the island, where we will stay at one of the view campsites. Tomorrow our son is coming! Let’s see what we will do all together.
