Along the coast, a famous long distance hike, the Trilho dos Pescadores or Fishermen’s Trail starts south of Sines and leads 226 km along the coast, past Cabo de São Vicente until Lagos. We did the first few kilometres until Porto Covo, and later on came many times past the trail and the many hikers.

After our hike along the coast, we drove a little further south to Vila Nova de Milfontes, where we used a camping again. Along that coast, wild camping is nearly impossible. Here again, a river mouth provides lovely beaches without the Atlantic waves.

Our next stop was at Camping Serrão near Aljezur. Even here, the Fishermen’s Trail leads past. Instead of following its route, we did a hike to the famous Praia da Amoreira and along the coast.

Praia da Amoreira has an exceptional beautiful river mouth with 2 bays of sandy beaches and shallow water, great for the kids. The beach at the ocean seams to be perfect to learn surfing.

We are now heading to the Algarve, not sure jet, where we will go. More soon!
