As we removed the trailer hitch because we did not need it in normal travelling, we also lost the rear tow hook. Therefore we needed a simple solution for recovery situations.
In our workshop we found the original hook for the steel rope of our WARN winch, which is not in use because of the installed nylon rope on our camper.
The idea was to find just an anchor point for this hook to use it at the rear end of the camper. After short inspection of the existing body structure we decided to use the same point the original hitch was mounted. We just needed to extend a existing hole from 10 to 13 milimeter. Easy job, easy done!
We now can apply the hook either left or right, depending on the actual situation. In normal operation the hook is removed. When going off road it is easy to apply in advance.
