After our sunny day, the clouds were back, but we tried to explore as much as possible anyway. We stopped first in Órzola, from where the ferry to La Graciosa, an inhabited island we hadn’t been to jet, leaves. To Graciosa you can’t go by car, but we had planned to take the bikes.

When we watched the ferry leave the harbour and ride the waves in a spectacular fashion, we changed our mind. With the strong winds, we also didn’t fancy to ride on sandy tracks around La Graciosa very much. Instead, we walked to Playa de la Cantería before we continued our way at Lanzarote.

We had planned to hike up to the crater of the Corona volcano, but the cold wind and grey sky put us off this idea too. Instead, we found a restaurant called Grill-Asador Volcan de la Corona, a heaven for meat lovers.

After a great late lunch, we reached the Mirador de Guinate, from where we had impressive views, even with the not so good weather.

A parking behind the view point was well protected from the wind, so we stayed there for the night. The next day we continued from view point to view point, driving up narrow hairpins on a road which was in places sliding down the mountain, but we made it. Luckily, we saw the oncoming bus early enough and stopped where he could pass us.

Next we decided to walk to the Mirador de El Risco de Famara from the main road, a good decision as the track was in bad condition. This way we could also admire the flowers.

We came past Teguise again, and decided to visit the castle at the edge of a volcano above town. We thought there might be an exhibition on pirates, but that seemed to have been dismantled, as only traces of the former exhibition could be seen.

The weather looked finally more promising. Therefore, hiking through the land of volcanos was on our plan next. More soon!
