Grid Hunting, a HAM Radio story

From our nice campsite, we drove in the direction of Missour, a little town where the mountains of the Middle Atlas end and the desert starts. We did this detour to get to some grids Edi wanted to activate for the ham radio community. On the way, we had some nice scenery and spotted some camels.

For the first grid, we drove north of Missour and found a nice spot at a fertile wadi.

The next day, we drove south of Missour, to get to the second grid. We found a gravel road, which we could follow, until we had reached the right spot.

After this grid was activated, we stopped in Missour for lunch before we made our way west again, in the direction of Midelt. We turned south and found a valley in the mountains, which allowed Edi to activate the next grid.

The next day we drove through the lovely Ziz canyon to Errachidia. On the way, we had to fill up the oil for the gear box, as our car was not feeling well.

We reached Goulmima, where we want to explore the old village. Of course, another grid was activated there too. More about our visit to a ksar next!
