First summer days …

After what had felt like a never ending period of bad weather, 2 sunny days were predicted before clouds and rain would be back, therefore we wanted to make the most of it. The first day was spent at a lake with some cycling and swimming, the second day hiking at the Danube valley.

We found a beautiful lake near Krumbach in Bavaria called Oberrieder Weiher, where pitches for caravans were set up directly at the shore. (48.225477, 10.291485)

We got a map of cycling routes from the campground next door and started along the river Günz, crossed over the hills to the valley of the river Kammel, where we came past the company which built our caravan (Dopfer Reisemobile). When we reached Krumbach we were desperate for a nice lunch which we enjoyed in the centre of the lovely town. Afterwards one hill was left to climb before we reached our lake again. Now it was time for a dip!

Very refreshing!
In the evening I went on a walk along the river Günz and was able to watch a pair of beavers enjoying the last sun rays and munching on some plants growing along the river. On the way back a group of wild geese was flying over my head and I felt like being on a game drive with so many animals to observe. Sadly I didn’t take the camera with me.
