Cruising the Vesterålen

After coming down from the island of Senja, we now had reached Vesterålen, a group of several islands like Langøya, Andøya and Hadseløya just north of the Lofoten. Here the landscape is mountainous, but the mountains have a more rounded shape compared to the mountains in Lofoten.

High bridges connect the islands

We were on the way along a scenic route to Andenes, the northernmost town of Andøya. There we were planning to hike a fabulous mountain and to do some whale watching.

That was what we were looking for: a whale safari! The office was already closed when we arrived, but they promised to have a tour scheduled for the next day, so let’s see if we can do that!

We are hoping for good weather, so that we can do our hike and go on a whale safari. Let’s see what the next day will bring. More on our next posts!
