Challanging 4×4 trail in the Pyrenees

From the abandoned village of Pardina de Albás, we had to make our way back to a tar road today. First we drove down the mountains, crossed the deep mud a second time and then drove up the mountain on the other side. There were many washed out sections with deep trenches where you don’t need them. A couple of times we had to inspect the track ahead of us and make some improvements by moving stones where we needed them.

The track was only 5 km long, but it took us 2 hours to get to the tarmac road near Las Bellostas. We would never have driven this track with our big camper. The little one is much better suited for this kind of routes.

Flower of the Day

We enjoyed the tarmac, when we drove down the Vero valley to Alquézar, a little town we wanted to visit.

After a relaxed afternoon in Alquézar, we had one more thing to do: get all the mud off the car before it dries up and gets stuck forever.

We will now make our way south through the middle of Spain, looking for birds next.
