In 1867 the coronation of the Hungarian royal couple Franz Joseph I and Elisabeth took place in this church. And in 1916 the coronation of the Hungarian royal couple Charles IV and Zita was the last coronation in Hungary.

The Heroes’ Square is one of the major squares in Budapest, noted for its iconic statue complex featuring the seven chieftains of the Magyars and other important Hungarian national leaders.

The Hungarian Parliament building is the third largest in the world and the largest building in Hungary. It can be visited on a guided tour. We could walk up the golden stairs and into the central hall where the Holy Crown of Hungary is on display, guarded by two soldiers.
