Benidorm

Camping El Portus

After spending a week at a camping near Cartagena, we headed back “home”, stopping at Benidorm, to check out what’s going on there.

Our secluded beach

Our camping was at El Portús, where the camping has its own bay and beach enclosed by mountains. The camping was only 1/3 full, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We had found a plot in the second row from the beach with some sea view and enjoyed not to wear clothes all day very much (it is a nudist camping ;-)). The camping also has a big summer pool and for the winter season there is a covered pool and a second restaurant. Link Camping El Portus

After a relaxed week, we headed north and planned to stop at Benidorm in the evening. For the afternoon we were looking for a place to go swimming. A small bay sounded promising and we took the narrow road and went for a swim and a lunch in the shade of a big pine tree. Playa Rodo de Conil: 38.517142, -0.178726

Shortly after we left our beach, we spotted the high risers of Benidorm, especially the infamous Intempo building, for many years unfinished. We noticed many new apartment buildings in construction, some looking really nice.

After walking the long promenade and having dinner at one of the many restaurants, we left Benidorm again, to find a calmer spot for the night. The next day we reached Jávea, where we will have to organise the repair of our old pick up, before we will finally be on the road again.

After leaving Jávea, we will make some stops on the way north, more on our next post!

    1. Ja, die Benidorm “Twintowers” sind sehenswert. Bis heute nicht in “use” eine endlose Geschichte von Überheblichkeit, Korruption und Unfähigkeit.
      Frage mal GOOGLE!
