Around the Netherlands: Rotterdam – Leiden

 36 km

Our destination today is Noordwjik. The weather is bad, grey sky and rain the whole day, so we head to the Space Expo. The Campings along the coast are full so we end up a little inland at the Camping Koningshof near Leiden.

I’m happy to have a good internet connection as I have to work and the guys head to the Space Expo on their bikes.

They come back quite dripping from the ride through the rain.  We spend some hours working and reading. Later in the afternoon I get sick of not doing anything and decide we have to go into Leiden.

It’s not to bad to cycle in the rain, but everything is so grey and depressing. I definitively know again why I live in Spain. We visit our first dutch wind mill which is very interesting to see from the inside with all it’s wooden structure.

Leiden probably is a nice town to stroll around but with the rain it’s no fun at all. So to fight a serious depression we head to a Pannekokenhuis, where we have the biggest pancake ever, and not just one!
