Around the Netherlands: Rotterdam – Leiden

 36 km

Our destination today was Noordwjik. The weather was bad, grey sky and rain the whole day, so we headed to the Space Expo. The Campings along the coast were full, so we end up a little inland at the Camping Koningshof near Leiden.

Cordy was happy to have a good internet connection, as she had to work, but the boys headed to the Space Expo on their bikes.

They came back quite dripping from their ride through the rain.  We spent some hours working and reading. Later in the afternoon, we got sick of not doing anything and decide we could go and visit Leiden.

It’s not too bad to cycle in the rain, but everything is so grey and depressing. We definitively know again why we live in Spain. We visited our first dutch wind mill, which was very interesting to see from the inside with all its wooden structure.

Leiden for sure is a nice town to stroll around but with the rain it was no fun at all. To fight a serious depression we headed to a Pannekokenhuis, where we have the biggest pancake ever, and not just one!
