A hike @ Náfplio

Náfplio is a lovely harbour town in the south-east of Peloponnese, from where we took a walk along the coast and back to the centre.

We had arrived late in the evening so we just parked at the big parking next to the harbour and went to explore the old part of Náfplio, finally choosing a little restaurant in one of the small streets for dinner before we returned to our camper.

The next day the weather was lovely again, and we took a walk from Náfplio south along the coast.

A path leads along the coast, passing some small beaches, until it reaches a big bay with a sandy beach and typical Greek taverns. At the other end of this bay, the path ends at a little church.

We couldn’t resist the clear water and went for a swim on our way back to Náfplio.

When we reached the old town again and restaurants had their tables lining the streets everywhere, we couldn’t resist going for lunch after our walk along the coast.

After we had reached our parking again, we left to find a nicer spot at the sea to spend the rest of the day. We drove along the coast to the western side of the Argolic Gulf. Finally, we found a beach behind a wetland near Astros which was perfect.

This place was just so perfect, we stayed 2 nights and enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach. In the late afternoon we took the bikes and cycled to the next supermarket to get some supplies so we wouldn’t starve 😉 But the most amazing thing was that there were golden jackals living in this area which started to howl after sunset!
