3 years since we left Jávea, 3 years living on 10 square metres, 3 years of travelling non-stop through Europe (Corona kept us here), 3 years during which we explored 34 countries. For sure something we wanted to celebrate!
We are at the beautiful Costa de la Luz, enjoying the coastline, the beaches, the sea and the good weather. We had been here in March 2019, visiting Verjer de la Frontera and the Roman Baelo Claudia and hiking along a cliff. This time we hiked in the same area, starting from Barbate, where we stayed at a Camper Parking at the harbour.
From Barbate, we just drove to the next little town, which was Zahara de los Atunes, famous for the tuna which is caught here, but also for its endless sandy beach.
The town was full of nice looking restaurants, shops and market stalls. We decided to choose one of the restaurants for our celebration. As we follow the blog viajando con manuela, and they have a detailed description of Zahara de los Atunes as it is one of their favourite places, we followed their advice and made a reservation at Tia Juana for dinner.
What we call Aprés Ski in Austria, would be Aprés Beach here in Spain. At the Chiringuitos live music made a good vibe while we watched the sun set.
For dessert we went to ázoe, where ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen, another advice from viajando con manuela. We had 2 different creations: Banana & Chocolate and Lemon pie, both very delicious!
What a great place to celebrate an anniversary! It is really getting crowded at the camping now, so we are eager to leave and find more quiet spots again. But of course Tarifa and Gibraltar are waiting for us! More on our next post!
Wow, just came in through another chaps blog, the one at Valencia to Albacete. You both look so vibrant and happy, life must be agreeing with you. Thanks for letting me have an insight into a life that I would long to live and enjoy. Best of luck to you.
